The Eight Mountains
The Eight Mountains or “Le Otte Montagne” was Italian movie project produced by Wildside S.R.L. The project appointed Nepal FIlm Services as the local producer for Nepal through the Khussro Films who were the Line producer for the project. After negotiating and interacting with numerous Filming service providers in Nepal, they were finally satisfied with our budget and know-how on the filming of Hollywood projects in Nepal and finally awarded us the contract. The location recce of the project started in 2021 during the window between Covid 1st and 2nd wave. The locations that were recced for this project were different parts of Mustang Valley, Manang Valley, Pokhara and Kathmandu. During the location research we were also able to finalize the logistics arrangements for the project which helped us to save some budget. After going through all the pictures sent from Nepal, the couple duo-director finally selected Kathmandu and Nar-Phu region but preferably Nar Valley of Manang was selected. The only problem was the whole crew needed to trek for couple of days to the location. With more than 22 crews and 29 boxes of equipment, we had to hire more than 30 porters and mule to carry all the logistics. The catering services was provided by Responsible adventures. Another issue was Nar-Phu region is highly sensitive are and comes under the restricted zone, hence we had to get special permit to film there. The project was filmed in Nar Valley of Manang near the Thorangla pass of Annapurna Base camp trek circuit, Besisahar, Koto and many place of Kathmandu Valley such as Thamel, Chobhar, Koteshwor and football ground. The international filming crew stayed in Nepal for almost a month and were mesmerized the Natural beauty of Nepal and how these places are still raw in terms of filming and able to stay from the modernization and kept the culture in contact. The filming journey was difficult but was really pleasant as well as our team also got to learn a lot from the experience international filming crew.
