“ Dying for the World Cup 2022” – The Sunday Times UK

For this project we were given task of researching the profiles who were affected while working in the stadiums of Qatar for the world cup 2022. We visited different hospitals and media houses from where we were able to build the list of profiles. To our surprises there were many and we also came across many profiles who were dead due to the fatal injuries sustained while working there. But we were trying to find someone who lives in Kathmandu and going under the treatment. After reviewing multiple profiles, the client found Amit one suitable for the story. He lost his both kidneys while working in of the Qatari Stadium and currently undergoing dialysis in the Kidney center of Kathmandu. His kidney transplants seems far distant things though he and his somehow managing to bear the cost of the regular dialysis. His wife and Father Works as daily labor while his mother runs small tea-shop. He has one small kid. He is not sure whether he will receive the kidney transplant as many have died while waiting for the turn. He was never properly compensated by the Manpower agency which fixed his job in Qatar. Our won Fixer team was fundamental to get these stories from the different sources and were also able to film inside the hospital during the dialysis which is generally restricted.
